I never used it to cut or took it apart, but it's a "Battle-Ready" carbon steel sword with a full tang so it would do the job. Scabbard didn't fit at all, it was very loose and rattled around, and would fall out easily. I believe the pommel is a screw-on type though as there was no visible peen. Weight and balance were not bad, although the grip is not comfortable at all. That said, I recently traded it for a Valiant Armory Savoy, which is a much more functional and practical blade that handles much better... this one's really more of a functional display piece, which is why I passed it on.
Thanks! I'm actually letting this sword go, trading it for a Valiant Armory Savoy that fits my style more... will probably have pics of it up after I get it.
